Mit der Einführung der LDI-Technik steigt ANDUS in die 2mil-Technik ein. Der neue Laserdirektbelichtungsprozess ermöglicht Leiterplattenlayouts mit 50 µm Leiterbreiten und -abständen.

Feinleiter, Feinstleiter, Microleiter, Microfeinstleiter, ... - hinter diesen und ähnlichen Begriffen verbergen sich mehr oder weniger sensationelle Kupferstrukturen auf Leiterplatten. Deutlich objektivere Aussagen über das Layout liefern konkrete Angaben in Micrometern oder Milli-Inch.

Strukturen von 6 oder 5 mil (150 µm bzw. 125 µm) sind heute in der konventionellen SMD-Elektronik üblich, während 4 und 3 mil (100 µm bzw. 75 µm) nur dort eingesetzt werden, wo hochpolige Fine-Pitch-Bauteile dies erfordern.
