Baden-Württembergs Wissenschaftsministerin Theresia Bauer und Bärbel Brumme-Bothe, Abteilungsleiterin im Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF), haben das Startsignal für Ulm als weiteren Sitz des Deutschen Zentrums für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen (DZNE) gegeben. Die symbolische Vertragsunterzeichnung geschah am heutigen Mittwoch, dem internationalen "Tag der Seltenen Erkrankungen". Das DZNE wächst damit auf bundesweit zehn Standorte. In Ulm, seit langem ein Zentrum neurologischer Spitzenforschung, wird sich das DZNE insbesondere mit selteneren Nervenerkrankungen wie der Amyotrophen Lateralsklerose (ALS) befassen. Dazu kooperiert es mit der Universität Ulm, dem Universitätsklinikum Ulm sowie den Universitäts- und Rehabilitationskliniken (RKU).
