G.A.S. Energietechnologie GmbH, Krefeld, and Greenstar, the largest private Irish disposal company, have established a joint venture to operate landfill gas plants. Greenstar Gas Energy Ltd. will initially equip its own landfills in Ireland with gas utilization plants. The KTK Landfill in Kilcullen, County Kildare, the first collective project of G.A.S. and Greenstar, has gone into service.
In an initial development stage, 2 modules with a total electrical output of 2.5 MW were installed on the KTK Landfill; a third module being delivered this year's autumn will increase the plant's output to 3.8 MW.
