Das Elektroauto wird auch noch 2020 allen ambitionierten Plänen zum Trotz ein Nischenprodukt sein. Denn bis dahin dürfte es für die Automobilindustrie effizienter sein, sich auf die Optimierung von Verbrennungsmotoren und die Verbesserung von Hybridfahrzeugen zu konzentrieren. Das zeigt eine Studie des Instituts der deutschen Wirtschaft Köln und der Deutsche Bank Research. Weitere Ergebnisse sind:

- Um die hohen Anschaffungskosten eines Elektroautos zu kompensieren, muss ein Kunde heute insgesamt etwa 300.000 Kilometer fahren.
- Der Anteil reiner E-Autos an den Pkw-Neuzulassungen in Deutschland dürfte 2020 bei starker staatlicher Förderung und schnellem technologischen Fortschritt bei maximal 8 Prozent liegen; ohne Subventionen sind fphseyzxt 4 Frkinsp lmwlxuqrzky.
