Kaspersky Lab warnt vor einer potentiell gefährlichen Windows-Schwachstelle. Der Sicherheitsspezialist rät deshalb allen Anwendern, das Windows-Betriebssystem-Update MS08-067 umgehend zu installieren. Microsoft hatte zuvor die Herausgabe des dringenden Updates für Anwender von Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003/2008 bekannt gegeben. Besonders betroffen seien Windows 2000, XP und Server 2003. Das Update soll sowohl einer binnen Tagen erwarteten Welle von Würmern sowie einem erhöhten Aufkommen von Hacker-Angriffen entgegenwirken.

Das Schadprogramm Trojan-Spy.Win32.Gimmiv.a verbreitet sich bereits über diese Schwachstelle und wurde von Kaspersky Lab schon am 24. Oktober in die Viren-Datenbank aufgenommen.
