MAZ, whose publishing platform powers over 700 apps across iOS and Android platforms, including brands such as Forbes, USA Today Sports, OK! and Star Magazine, revealed the results of a study today on the usage and effectiveness of push notifications within mobile apps. Using aggregate data over 1,000,000 app sessions, MAZ found that the use of push notifications typically doubled in-app purchases within an app, along with significantly increasing the app session and engagement time by an end user.
