Presentation of the 3rd Walter Zapp Award in Riga, Latvia

It was the third presentation of the Walter Zapp Award, that took place this year in Riga on September 4, 2009. Walter Zapp, inventor of the legendary 8x11mm miniature camera that became known all over the world as the famous "Spy Camera", was born on September 4, 1905 in Riga. In 2001 he returned to his home town to be honored for his lifetime work with the Walter Zapp Award.

The Walter Zapp Award is presented to scientists, researchers and developers who have accomplished outstanding work and innovative developments in their specific field of research.
