DRIFT unterstützt soziale, regionale und ökologische Projekte im Norden. Für jede verbrauchte Kilowattstunde (kWh) "DRIFT NORDSTROM" und jede zehn verbrauchten kWh "DRIFT NORDGAS" gehen 0,5 Cent in einen Spendentopf, den die Nordland Energie GmbH jeweils verdoppelt. Unter www.drift.de können Projekte vorgeschlagen werden. Die DRIFT-Kunden entscheiden gemeinsam, welche Ideen finanziert werden. Die Vergabe ist auf 2.000,00 Euro pro Projekt und 100.000,00 Euro insgesamt pro Jahr begrenzt. Auf diese Weise fördert DRIFT mit Hilfe der so genannten DRIFT-Community viele kleinere, lokal relevante Projekte.
