Option (Euronext: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), the wireless technology company, notes that today the European Commission has opened an antisubsidy investigation for imports of wireless wide area networking (WWAN) modems from China. Option had requested the investigation because of the severe injury caused by the sharp increase of obviously subsidized imports into the European market.
As announced in its First Half 2010 financial results Option had filed an antisubsidy complaint with the European Commission based on Article 10 of the EU antisubsidy legislation (Council Regulation 597/2009) for imports of subsidized wireless wide area networking (WWAN) modems.
