IMS Research sees PROFINET and PROFIsafe in leading position

In its new study "The World Market for Industrial Ethernet & Fieldbus Technologies - 2013 Edition," IMS Research confirms PROFINET a leading position, with a market share of 30%, among the globally established Industrial Ethernet solutions. The study describes the solution promoted by PI (PROFIBUS & PROFINET International) as a comprehensive Industrial Ethernet solution that covers all areas up to and including high-performance drives.

Besides PROFINET the leading group includes Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP/IP. Together, this group covers more than three-quarters of the market.
