Der Hochgeschwindigkeitszug Velaro von Siemens ist weltweit im Einsatz: Er durchquert spanische Wüsten, fährt unter der chinesischen Sonne und im russischen Winter. Die jüngste Generation des Superzuges, der Velaro D, wird Ende 2011 als neuer ICE 3 der Baureihe 407 für die Deutsche Bahn in Betrieb gehen. Doch bevor die ersten Passagiere zusteigen, nehmen sich die Ingenieure von Siemens die feine Mechanik und hoch entwickelte Elektronik des Zuges zur Brust.

Gebaut in Krefeld-Uerdingen, sind die ersten Wagen jetzt reif für den Prüfstand.
