TRACTO

Why dig trenches when there are better solutions?
Sustainable solutions for future-proof infrastructure

Whether it is the energy transition, digitalisation or urbanisation – the need for gentle processes for the construction and maintenance of modern infrastructures is greater today than ever before. Capacities and ranges must be adapted, old networks must be repaired, without compromising the security of supply or jeopardising climate targets. For cost and environmental reasons alone, these tasks cannot be solved in the medium or long term using classic open construction. Trenchless technology from TRACTO for underground pipe installation and renewal is an ecologically and economically friendly alternative.

Figures back up advantages of trenchless technology

The advantages of the minimally invasive trenchless technology over the open cut method are obvious: valuable surfaces remain intact, there is significantly less excavation and restoration work, no traffic jams or diversions, fewer emissions, resources and natural capital are conserved, and construction times are significantly shorter. Future infrastructure projects such as the supply of green energy or the expansion of fibre optic cable networks, as well as the construction of water and sewage pipes, e-mobility grids or pipelines, will all benefit. The numbers speak for themselves:
  • The use of trenchless methods reduces construction time by around 70% and construction costs by up to 80%.
  • Up to 98% less harmful CO2 emissions are produced and particulate pollution is up to 110 times lower than with open-trench construction
  • Trenchless construction uses only 2% of the filling and surface material and 3% of the transport journeys required for conventional pipeline construction
  • Material consumption is up to 50 times lower than with open-trench construction
System solutions for trenchless construction

As the only full-range supplier for trenchless construction, TRACTO offers technically advanced system solutions for all types of infrastructure, be it for energy transition, digitalisation or water supply. The product portfolio covers all phases of pipeline construction: it includes NO-DIG systems for the construction of main grids and distribution networks, the installation of house connections and the modernisation of existing pipeline networks. TRACTO laid the foundation for this complete range more than 50 years ago with the invention of the first German soil displacement hammer, the "Mole". This innovation was followed by further groundbreaking developments, so that today, decades of expertise are incorporated in all solutions 'Made in Sauerland'.

TRACTO offers a range of tailored services and innovative digital tools to support its product portfolio, enabling NODIG projects to be carried out with maximum efficiency and security. This combination of flexible state-of-the-art technology and practice-oriented expert services for trenchless construction results in a valuable complete solution for TRACTO's customers. TRACTO's customers are mainly civil engineering and specialist engineering contractors, but also utility companies and network operators. Representations all over Germany and sister companies in Switzerland, Great Britain, France, Australia and the USA ensure that customers and partners worldwide receive the best possible service.
