"With this offer, we are primarily addressing tenants. This customer group now gets the opportunity to generate green electricity for their own use independently of landlords or tradespeople. This concept is good for the climate and the wallet alike," says Roger Moore, Managing Director of Selfio GmbH.
With the priwatt brand plug-in solar systems currently offered at www.selfio.de, electricity can be generated up to the legally prescribed maximum feed-in limit of currently 600 watts per household. A system with two solar panels with a peak output of 400 watts each and an inverter, which ensures that the maximum limit applicable in Germany is adhered to, is being sold. "The higher maximum output of the two modules means that even under less than ideal conditions, high amounts of electricity are already being fed into the grid. This has a positive effect on the payback period of the system," Moore adds. Private customers in Germany can purchase the systems for installation on or near residential buildings without paying VAT thanks to the current legal provisions.
"With the 3U SHAC online-business, we are making a contribution to the energy turnaround. In times of serious shortage of tradespeople, we continue to promote do-it-yourselfers and their personal initiative in construction and renovation," comments Uwe Knoke, Management Board Member for Strategy and Business Development at 3U HOLDING AG and emphasises: "The growth course of 3U’s SHAC online-business concerns both the targeted expansion of the product range, also beyond our previous focus on heating, ventilation, water, as well as the expansion of the customer spectrum. And here, too, we are playing to our proven strengths: Supporting customers with advice and effective assistance."
