Aus dem vom ACE Auto Club Europa am Montag in Stuttgart veröffentlichten Lagebericht geht gleichwohl hervor, dass von den rund 200 Passstraßen derzeit erst 45 gesperrt sind. Folglich sind die meisten Pässe noch befahrbar.
Das zweite Adventswochenende brachte nach Angaben der Touristik-Experten des Clubs vor allem in den Bergen erneut viel Neuschnee. Besonders in der Schweiz wuchs die Schneedecke: Vom Unterwallis bis ins Glarnerland entlang den Voralpen wurden von den örtlichen Behörden rund 30 Zentimeter Neuschnee gemessen - rund drei- bis viermal mehr als üblich für diese Jahreszeit, wie der ACE berichtete. Besonders beeindruckende Schneemengen sind im Nordtessin, aber auch rund um das Gotthardmassiv registriert worden.
Der ACE mahnte Kraftfahrer, sie sollten nur noch mit Winterausrüstung ins Hochgebirge starten und Schneeketten mitnehmen.
