The Victum-Notes are designed for the use in environments with extremely harsh conditions like shock, vibration, low and high temperature, splash water, dust, sand and EMC. In the past industrial notebooks were heavy, clumsy, bulky, hardly available and equipped with obsolete electronic. With the release of the new Victum-Note from Acturion this is the past. The Victum-Note is light, comparatively small, available within 3-4 weeks ARO and they carry the latest processor technology. Even though the housing of the Victum-Note is completely made of light metal magnesium die cast alloy the Victum-Note weighs 8.5lbs only. With these features the Victum-Note is the ideal companion for technical outdoor maintenance, law enforcement, emergency rescue services and soldiers in mission. The Victum-Note fulfils Ingress Protection class IP54 (NEMA 12) and the military standard MIL-STD810F. Additionally there is also the military standard MIL-STD461E available.
The Victum-Note has no internal fans and comes with a completely hermetic closed full metal housing. The surface of the housing is treated with a special hardened coating. The housing carries fixed rubber bumpers on all sides to absorb any shock and vibration. As the Victum-Note does not have any fan inside so heat pipes transfer the heat of the CPU to the housing which works as a heat sink. Operating temperature is between 0°C and +55°C, standard. For extreme low temperatures the Victum-Note can be ordered with a HDD heating and screened components which expands the operating temperature to -20°C.
The Victum-Note is based on a 1.667 GHz Intel Core Duo L2400 Processor with 667MHz FSB and 2MB L2 Cache. With this CPU power even complex arithmetic operations are done in no time. For applications where more video power is needed the Victum-Note can be ordered with a powerful ATI M54 graphics and 128MB of VRAM. The standard video uses an on-board Intel GMA950 chipset with 128MB of shared memory.
The other technical features of the Victum-Note are: Up to 2 GB of RAM, a shock mounted 2.5” 80GB removable SATA HDD which is expandable to 200 GB and more I/O-Ports like, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 VGA connector for an external CRT or LCD, 1 RS232 port D-Sub 9, 1 microphone jack, 1 infrared IrDA port and 1 line-out jack. For the communication in networks the Victum-Note has one 10/100/1000-Base-T-LAN port with RJ45 connector, one 56K modem with RJ11 connector and an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945a/b/g WLAN port. Other wireless options are an internal GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/WCDMA/HSDPA module with built-in antenna. For worldwide navigation the Victum-Note can be equipped with an internal GPS receiver and built in antenna. A Bluetooth module v2.0, class1 with 100m range is option an SD Card slot is standard and the standard built in PS/2 port can be replaced by an IEEE1394 Firewire port. Last but not least the Victum-Note offers 2 PCMCIA slots type I/II and/or 1x slot type III with CardBus support.
The Victum-Note has an operating temperature range from –20°C up to +55°C. With the exchangeable Lithium-Ion battery the Victum-Note runs up to 4hrs. on battery and an additional battery which can be installed instead of the DVD combo drive adds another 4hrs. An AC-Adapter with 100V to 240V, 50/60HZ, autoswitching- and autosensing is standard; a 12V to 32V DC car adapter is option.
A soft padded carrying case is standard option for the Victum-Note, special option for extreme protection is a full-ruggedized water-prove metal transit case. Prices start at 3,150 Euros plus VAT for the Victum-Note 14-2. All units are built to order and delivery time is 3-4 weeks ARO.
