Often described as mini line arrays, column arrays are becoming increasingly popular with musicians, DJs and entertainers, because of their compact, stylish design and easy portability. With the MAUI 44, LD Systems now presents the new flagship of the MAUI product family.
With a massive 1,600 watts RMS system power and 129 dB peak SPL, the MAUI 44 delivers rich, natural and imposing sounds.
Loaded with 2 x 12" neodymium drivers, the bandpass subwoofer is powered by two Hypex UCD400 amplifiers, while the 4 ways of the vertical array are individually powered by their own 200 watts Class D amplifiers. The two column elements are made from lightweight aluminium, housing sixteen 3.5" full range loudspeakers with cast frames and integrated heat sinks plus two 1" Celestion HF drivers coupled to a waveguide.
The MAUI 44 system and subwoofer levels are adjustable individually. Digital signal processing and a dedicated limiter achieve distortion-free audio with very high dynamics.
The intelligent design of the MAUI 44 excels in mobile applications with minimum setup times due to integrated custom connectors replacing the tedious cabling. The subwoofer made from rugged 15 mm birch ply weighs in at just under 40 kg, while the two aluminium column elements tip the scales at only 17.8 kg.
The superior feedback resistance of the MAUI 44 and its wide 120° horizontal dispersion angle also eliminate the need for dedicated monitors.
