The Internet of Things (IoT) is gaining in importance in practical use. In the future, the new name and the products offered underline the company’s focus on the IoT and the competences stored here. In addition to the well-known and well-established vehicle terminals, Advantech will also be presenting a part of the new, expanded portfolio at LogiMAT, Feb. 19-21st 2019 in Stuttgart, to the specialist audience.
Performance and quality under a new name
Besides the renaming, everything stays as usual for the customer – the company headquarters in Germany with the known address, commercial register number, bank details and VAT ID. The main advantage is the expended product and service range.
The Advantech Group, with more than 8,600 employees worldwide, has an extremely broad product offering aimed at simplifying industrial processes. Markets and applications can be found in logistics, retail, healthcare, embedded computing, industrial automation, intelligent connectivity and systems, energy and environment, and the networking and communications industry. Customers can purchase sophisticated technology for different applications from a single source.
From product to solution orientation
The trend is increasingly going towards offering solutions rather than just hardware. “We´re just moving from being a hardware vendor to a SRP vendor to actively create solutions with partners in different industries, rather than just delivering individual hardware or software” explains Michael Kreft, Executive Sales Director Europe, Advantech Service-IoTs current future-oriented developments in the company. The result of the joint development work under the motto “Co-Creation” are ready-to-use solution packages (SRPs – Solution Ready Packages).
To promote this creative ecosystem, Advantech hosted the Advantech IoT Co-Creation Summit in China on November 1-2, 2018. 6,000 participants attended informative keynote speeches and inspiring panel discussions and took part in various workshops. In addition to Advantech, numerous partners and solution providers were represented to find solutions for different industries or to present some already developed solutions.
