- Reduction of energy costs through wood chips and emissions trading
- Second meeting with Michael Glos within the past three months
AGO AG Energie + Anlagen (cusip number: A0LR41; ISIN: DE000A0LR415) introduced their new program for climate protection to Mr. Michael Glos, Federal Minister for Economics and Technology. On the "6th Economy Day of Upper Franconia" in Kloster Banz, Board member Hans Ulrich Gruber explained the Joint Implementation Project for medium-sized industrial companies developed by AGO AG. The climate protection program's target is the conversion from fossil fuels, such as oil and gas, to the use of wood chips. "The technology used by AGO Energie + Anlagen for generating energy by means of renewable primary products has two major advantages: it is far more favorable than conventional energy supply plants and makes a remarkable contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions. If medium-sized companies converted to regenerative energy supply plants, they would benefit from short payback periods and additional earnings from the trade with emissions allowances", says Hans Ulrich Gruber.
With his voluntary activity as Junior Regional Management Board of BayMe (Bayerischer Unternehmensverband Metall und Elektro e. V.) Hans Ulrich Gruber is the contact person for energy and climate policy in Upper Franconia. After Michael Glos visited AGO's booth at the Hanover Trade Fair in April 2008, this was already the second time that both experts met in order to discuss current energy-political questions.
Rapidly increasing prices for fossil fuels as well as the permanent discussion on global warming have implicated an energy-political rethinking in medium-sized companies. Through lower energy costs the demand for regenerative energy supply plants is growing. "Approximately 3.5 million small and medium-sized companies represent the supporting column of the German national economy", emphasizes Hans Ulrich Gruber. "Therefore, AGO AG Energie + Anlagen supports medium-sized companies in everything that concerns CO2-neutral energy supply through biomass heating stations / biomass cogeneration plants, energy efficiency consulting and emissions trading."
