Power to the Fiber with Erbium Doped Fibers

AMS Technologies offers a number of different doped fibers including erbium doped fiber for various 'C' and 'L' amplifier configurations and ASE applications

The Erbium Doped Fiber is one of the greatest success stories of the late 1980's Optical Fiber Revolution and the development of Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA) became a key component in long distance optical fiber communications.

Our partner Fibercore has been supplying fibers and components for EDFAs for over 20 years and contribute to achieving low noise amplification of optical signals, most commonly across the C-band (1528-1565nm) and increasingly in the L-band (1565nm-1625nm).

Fibercore’s specialty fibers are PM Erbium Doped Fiber, Erbium Doped Fiber IsoGain™, Erbium Doped Fiber MetroGain™ and Erbium Doped Fiber AstroGain™. They are used extensively throughout the World and have been designed to deliver optimum performance across the full spectrum of EDFA applications. Together with Fibercore we have the ability to custom design EDFA fibers, catering to the needs of each individual project by working in partnership with our customers.

Fibercore's GainMaster™ simulation tool identifies optimum system parameters by simultaneous modelling of component variables on the Erbium only doped fibers.
