The new solar product is made of the tried-and-tested high-temperature insulation material HT/Armaflex. The closed-cell, synthetic rubber-based material protects the insulated installations against moisture absorption and increases the energy efficiency of the whole system. With a thermal conductivity of 0°C = 0.038 [W/m K] HT/Armaflex S effectively reduces heat losses during transport from the solar collector to the heat storage tank. Thanks to the closed microcell structure, moisture cannot penetrate the insulation, thus giving the installation long-term protection against corrosion.
The round extruded polyolefin facing provides the product with additional resistance to mechanical impact. It is UV-stable and not susceptible to sunlight or weathering. HT/Armaflex S can be used at temperatures ranging from -40 to +150 °C, short-term exposure to temperatures of up to +175 °C is possible. The material does not contain PVC and is CFC-free.
Because it is highly flexible, HT/Armaflex S can be installed easily without any need for special tools. Classic fields of application are the pipes of large-scale systems for water heating, heating support and solar cooling. HT/Armaflex S is avail-able as 2 m tubes in wall thicknesses of 13, 20 and 30 mm with a white or black facing.
