- arvato Systems implements German-language version of the publishing software
- Biblio3 ensures that ad hoc information is available in high quality with little effort
arvato Systems and Callwey have set up a joint team for the implementation project, which began in August. In approximately six months the title management, including integrated ONIX reporting functionality and product marketing, the production processes, and rights management, including contract creation, royalty payments, and license sales, are being transferred to Biblio3. To do so, Callwey is using the cloud version of the publishing software, which is provided for the German market by arvato Systems.
Alexander Uebel, CFO and IT manager of Callwey, has been won over by Biblio3: "Biblio3 is easy for users to operate. In the future, all employees in our books department will therefore be equipped with the system. This will enable us to avoid redundant data entry and ensure that all information is available in high quality with little effort. We look forward to the many possibilities offered to us by this new generation of publishing system."
After conducting extensive analyses and workshops, the publishing house Bibliographisches Institut GmbH, which is part of the Franz Cornelsen Education Group based in Berlin, decided to unify its diverse system landscape using arvato Systems' Biblio3, replacing their various content management systems and publishing software programs. In the future, the publishing processes of editing, content management, production, and all aspects of management rights, including rights acquisition, contract creation, royalty payments, and license sales, will be carried out using Biblio3 cloud software. All product components, such as pictures, manuscripts, and print templates, and later all digital commercial products, together with their extensive metadata, will be stored on one system.
The publisher is placing strong emphasis on increasing efficiency by automating workflows and on significantly strengthening product marketing by means of the central data storage of all relevant information and content. The entire workflow process with authors, service providers, and retail partners is designed to be transparent using this system. Kai Peters, Head of IT at the publishing house Bibliographisches Institut GmbH, stated, "When choosing the solution to best equip our publishing business for future success, it was particularly important to us to be able to significantly streamline our core processes of editing, production, marketing, and sales within an integrated publishing system. Another deciding factor, in addition to innovative and agile software, is the cloud compatibility of the product." The project will start in November with all modules scheduled to go live in several stages by the middle of next year.
Carl-Hubertus Mann, Head of Sales and Business Development Publishing at arvato Systems, stated, "We are very pleased that, with Callwey and the Bibliographisches Institut, we were able to convince two traditional publishing houses of the great benefits of the Biblio3 publishing solution. The integration of content data and metadata is absolutely essential for the high-performance management of all publishing processes in the digital age. 'Content is King, Data is Queen' – a concept that is convincingly implemented in Biblio3."
arvato Systems is presenting its innovative Biblio3 publishing system for the first time at the Frankfurt Book Fair from 14 – 18 October; the system is distributed exclusively in the German-speaking market by the publishing experts.
