- More than 20 students, with external Arvato Systems customers, took part in the practical seminar on risk management
The 2017 summer semester saw another successful practical seminar on risk management, organized by Arvato Systems along with the Paderborn University Center for Risk Management (CeRiMa). Real-life case studies were used to enable attendees to combine theory with practice.
More than twenty undergraduates from the Paderborn University economic studies program participated in practice-based seminar ‘Risk Management in Retail and Logistics, with special focus on Digitalization’. The event was held at Arvato Systems on July 12, 2017. The goal of the well-established partnership is to combine theoretical approaches with practical examples. Science affects economics. Experienced consultants and managerial staff from Arvato Systems, alongside CeRiMa staff, guided students through the training event. At this year’s event, in the light of digitalization, students looked at risk factors for the traditional business models used by small retailers, retail groups, delivery services, sea freight services and IT service providers. Within the framework of the event, participants had the opportunity to share and improve their professional knowledge. Feedback sessions gave students an opportunity to demonstrate presentation and communication skills.
Next Generation Talent developed through Ongoing Partnership
The partnership between Arvato Systems and the Paderborn University Risk Management research center, CeRiMa, has been in existence since 2010. Starting with a joint Risk Management teaching project, the partnership has been in continuous development from the outset. As well as a regular program of seminars, the focus is also on supporting Bachelor, Master and PhD theses. Both teaching events and the intensive work with mean that Arvato Systems is frequently able to find and recruit appropriate candidates for demanding projects. For the first time this year, selected customers were able to take part in the event. They experienced some fascinating presentations and discussions, and received a special boost of energy from sharing ideas and making contact with the talents of tomorrow.
