17 business students from the University of Paderborn successfully took part in the seminar that focused primarily on ‘Energies of the Future’ this past semester. The seminar was concluded in December 2011 with an event organized at the premises of arvato Systems. The seminar’s objective was to link theoretical approaches with practical examples.
Experienced consultants and managers from arvato Systems, together with CeRiMa employees, guided the students in classroom-based events. The students took renewable energies as a basis and designed a model for decentralized energy generation, supply, and marketing for municipal investors. Participants had the opportunity to demonstrate and develop their specialist knowledge by working on the case study. Students were able to exhibit their presentation and communication skills in feedback rounds.
The cooperation between arvato Systems and the Center for Risk Management, the University of Paderborn’s risk management research institute, has flourished since 2010. It began with a joint study project on risk management and has grown continuously ever since. The cooperation focuses on joint supervision of PhD, MA and bachelor theses, in addition to the seminars it offers at regular intervals. The lectures and the close collaboration between the participants have both provided fertile ground attracting suitable candidates for ambitious projects again and again. For Prof. Schiller of CeRiMa and Dr. Siegmar Moltzahn of arvato Systems, the seminar has further strengthened successful cooperation.
