The "European IT Workplace of the Year 2012" award is presented by the Best Quality Institute (BQI) in collaboration with various institutions such as the European Commission, the Bitkom industry association, the CeBIT computer fair and the weekly trade magazine "Computerwoche.” The BQI’s international research activities involve studies and models for evaluating various business sectors. It focuses on the standardization of quality assessments across all areas of the IT industry.
Proven methods were also used to assess companies in the "European IT Workplace Awards," focusing on different criteria in the company’s working environment. For instance, the IT staff were asked 65 questions on a wide range of employee-related issues, such as salary scales, salary increases, staff development, career advancement opportunities, employee turnover, training budgets, total number of training days available, use of technology, workplace diversity, and employee benefits provided for the IT staff. In most cases, ranges of values were requested, rather than explicit figures.
"We are delighted by the award, of course," says Siegfried Bloch, Head of HR at arvato Systems. "I am convinced that this great result is based on our corporate philosophy, the motto of ‘fordern und fördern’ [challenge and promote], combined with partnership in action and most of all with a large degree of autonomy.”
The award will be officially presented to arvato Systems on Mar 9, at Bitkom’s "IT meets HR" conference at the CeBIT trade fair in Hannover.
