Streamworks is a job scheduler that enables companies to manage all types of cross-system IT processes on any standard platform automatically, precisely, and highly efficiently. This is more important than ever today, as a vast array of applications and operating systems are used not only for the oftentimes time-sensitive exchange of data with customers and suppliers but increasingly also for the internal IT landscape of modern companies. The benefits also extend to the use of cloud resources, where this type of central instance offers major advantages.
The solutions that was entered in the competition allows users to define extremely complex rules via a service portal, which are then used to reliably start and stop cloud instances. This allows you to manage the necessary cloud resources using any event that is triggered, for example, by a workflow (editing of shipping documents, billing for order bundling, rendering of content) or that is time-specific (start/stop a development or QA environment). Once the rules have been created, the entire process is run fully automatically. This solution therefore enables companies to keep a close eye on cloud computing costs while reducing maintenance expenses to a minimum.
On 13-14 October, arvato Systems will present the solution nominated for the “Best in Cloud” award at a cloud conference at the Capitol Theater in Offenbach, Germany, where the winner will also be announced.
