The underlying contract, initially placed with Zeulenroda Presstechnik, a manufacturer of forming presses, by a large German automobile manufacturer from the premium segment, includes several stamping packaging lines for the production of rotor and stator laminations. Today, around 12 months after the contract was awarded, the first stamping packaging line is already in the implementation phase. The manufacturing line currently under construction combines the many years of expertise of Zeulenroda Presstechnik, in the form of a high-speed forming press specially adapted to the application, with the press automation know-how, particularly in the area of sheet strip feeding and control technology, of DREHER Automation.
With regard to the control concept, DREHER Automation naturally relies on the latest generation of Siemens PLC control. This is where particularly the high processing speed, in the stroke rate range of up to 200 rotor or stator laminations per minute, demands maximum performance. Configuring all the required interfaces also ensures the appropriate connection to the downstream process. In order to meet the high demands of the client, the service package from DREHER Automation also includes user-friendly visualization of the system operation.
In addition to the realization of the control technology and the creation of the coil feed, Automatic-Systeme Dreher GmbH is also responsible for the creation of a comprehensive safety concept in this joint project and supports the client all the way to CE certification of the entire stamping packaging line. As part of the project coordination, Automatic-Systeme Dreher GmbH succeeds in proving once again that the traditional company, as a leading system supplier for the automation of forming production processes, is also able to reflect the strict regulations and standards of the automotive industry and at the same time is capable of realizing innovative and sustainable solutions.
In the collaboration with Zeulenroda Presstechnik, two experienced experts meet on a level playing field. The joint project is therefore an exemplary demonstration of Germany's opportunities as a development and production location in industries of the future such as renewable energies and the industrial sectors associated with them. The renowned client of the two project partners thus benefits not least from being able to call on central contacts for all aspects of such complex stamping equipment, even in the after-sales area.
“Together with Zeulenroda Presstechnik, we succeeded in realizing a complete solution from one provider”, explains Steffen Leicht, Project Manager at Automatic-Systeme Dreher GmbH. “Where otherwise a multitude of different disciplines are involved, our partnership offers the client a maximum of two competent contact partners for all aspects.”
