In its hardware and software development, some of which features web capability and a variety of interfaces, Baumüller always considers the networking of the machines and systems. The automation specialist from Nuremberg will present a product portfolio to get new and existing machines fit for Industry 4.0.
Engineering Specialists
The engineering specialists from Baumüller, for example, have automated a handling unit and a welding robot. Both systems are complete solutions from Baumüller, from the control software to the drive. Baumüller thus shows how machine modules can be optimally automated for the production process and also flexibly automated depending on the application. The individual modules can easily be combined to form complete machines and systems or also integrated into new or existing systems.
Product Highlights
With the b maXX PCC-04, the new generation of box PCs, Baumüller is providing a new scalable and versatile control platform to users. The industry PC can be flexibly expanded, thus allowing for an individual machine design.
The new multi-axis controller b maXX 5800 will also be presented at Motek. The compact controller for up to six drive axes can be configured individually and fully flexibly. This means that users can freely combine axis powers in the controller. They can also integrate the exactly right axis power for every single axis. The result is a device that meets the requirements of their applications perfectly.
The decentralized servo drive b maXX 2500 for robotics and handling applications can be used across industries and therefore for numerous industrial applications. The solution impresses with a low wiring effort and high flexibility and is available in three installation sizes.
Complete solutions from Baumüller
The six-axis articulated-arm robot from Baumüller is an example of a complete solution. This is driven by six DSH1 high-precision servo motors and is controlled by the box PC b maXX PCC-04. The DSH1 motors were developed specifically for applications with the highest standards of quality and smooth operation and score with an almost unnoticeable detent torque.
A 3-axis handling is another example. The complete package consists of the control hardware as well as the complete software and visualization, frequency converters and servo motors. The frequency converter and servo motors can be freely selected depending on the customer application.
With the comprehensive software library, the mechanical engineer receives a handling unit with numerous functions only through parameterization and thus with the smallest amount of effort. The mechanical engineer can either integrate the complete system into the machine already during the development or simply retrofit it.
From special technology modules to the box PC to control technology and drives for robotics, Baumüller provides complete solutions for the material handling and robotics industries. With extremely high precision, exact positioning, high dynamics and maximum repeatability, robotic applications with Baumüller technology are suited for complex material handling tasks among other tasks. With its solutions for Industry 4.0 and an enormous variety of interfaces, Baumüller enables the flexible and simple networking of the machines and machine modules with other system parts as well as with external systems and platforms.
Digitization Increases Availability
An innovation in the field of service is BAUDIS IoT, a system for the process optimization and for the predictive maintenance system of existing and new machines. BAUDIS IoT is the consistent enhancement of the BAUDIS diagnostic system developed by Baumüller, which has successfully been in use for more than 20 years. BAUDIS increases the process reliability and availability of production and is successfully used worldwide in machines and plants.
BAUDIS IoT, the latest version, is an IoT-capable diagnostic and communication system that allows for a simple networking of machines and systems via the Internet and the intelligent analysis of data. BAUDIS IoT can be used independently of the manufacturer of the automation components and the sensors and can easily be retrofitted. It is therefore equally suitable for greenfield and brownfield plants, i.e. for the digitization of new and existing production facilities.
BAUDIS IoT allows for the continuous monitoring of automation components and machine states, data recording and analysis and the generation and output of a recommendation for action. The evaluation always occurs with the latest available algorithms. The system is thus continuously made more intelligent and develops its own solutions. By avoiding production errors, productivity increases and does so automatically through a self-regulating process.
Lifecycle management 4.0 worldwide
In addition to developing and manufacturing automation components, Baumüller as a corporate group also covers numerous services for machine and systems construction as well as for machine operators. Starting with the project planning, design and commissioning all the way to maintenance, retrofitting and relocation, Baumüller offers support throughout the entire life cycle of machines and systems.
