“Israel is one of our key markets”, explains Ingo Alphéus, CEO of BELECTRIC Solar & Battery GmbH. “We were delighted to have been selected as EPC partner for this important project.”
The new PV plant is part of a utility-scale solar project combining solar thermal and photovoltaic energy. Upon full completion, the renewable power station will be providing 250 Megawatt of electricity – around two percent of Israel’s consumption.
“We are proud to contribute to the large scale solar project Ashalim. It marks an important step to provide clean and grid-friendly electricity to Israel and help the country to reach their ambitious renewables energy targets”, adds Guy Shahar, Managing Director of BELECTRIC Israel Ltd.
Since 2013 BELECTRIC has realised 17 solar projects in Israel with a total capacity of around 200 MW. This year BELECTRIC is building a PV plant with a capacity of 120 MWp near the Kibbutz of Zeélim in corporation with Solel Boneh. Commissioning of this plant is anticipated in 2019. This further strengthens the position of BELECTRIC Israel Ltd. as one of the leading PV EPC and O&M contractors for large ground mounted projects in the Israeli solar market.
