DaimlerChrysler nutzt modularHiL bei der Entwicklung neuer Nutzfahrzeugmodelle. Durch die Verwendung identischer Module kann das Testsystem sowohl für Integrationstests des Steuergeräteverbunds als auch für Funktionstests am Steuergerät eingesetzt werden. Dies bietet einen erheblichen Kostenvorteil und mehr Flexibilität. Derzeit testet DaimlerChrysler mit zwei Gesamtfahrzeugsimulatoren und einem Satz Komponentenprüfplätze für jedes Steuergerät.
modularHiL ist ein modulares Hardware-in-the-Loop-Prüfsystem. Als Einzelmodul ist es mit seiner flexiblen Signalkonditionierung und der Verwendung offener Industriestandards eine kostengünstige Lösung für Komponentenprüfplätze. Im Verbund durch eine hochperformante Vernetzungstechnologie gekoppelt, bietet es für den Integrationsprüfstand nahezu unbegrenzte Leistungsreserven für Tests von Fahrzeugteil- und Gesamtfahrzeugsystemen.
