Volkswagen has been producing the model with the electric motor since last year and the e-Golf is designed for the environmentally conscious and for sustainability. BITZER’s e-Golf, which features black paintwork, has an output of 85 kW (115 hp), reaching a top speed of about 130 km/hour. “Sustainable electric driving was more important to us than performance on the road,” said Kleiner. “We don’t need petrol for the e-Golf as it runs completely on electricity and you just plug it in to recharge it. Owing to its very low power consumption, the e-Golf’s running costs are also particularly low. This means that the vehicle has a very good carbon footprint and it protects our environment.”
Experts confirm that BITZER goes for quality when purchasing vehicles. The e-Golf received the highest score in the ADAC EcoTest. This car works in a sophisticated way. To increase its efficiency, its electric motor regenerates the energy used for braking, thus recovering electricity. This mid-range vehicle, with an energy efficiency class of A+, will now be getting BITZER staff to their meetings. “Buying the e-Golf is one step towards greater environmental protection,” says Kleiner. “After all, BITZER has stood for efficiency and sustainability for more than 80 years.”
