Helmut Meyer takes over the helm at Lumikko Technologies Oy in Finland.
With effect from 1 March 2014 Helmut Meyer is the new Managing Director of BITZER subsidiary Lumikko Technologies Oy. Meyer is also Director of Sales at BITZER’s Transport Division. Kari Saikkonen, Lumikko Technologies Oy’s previous Managing Director and son of a company founder, now heads up the Development, Purchasing and Production division, as well as taking on the post of Deputy Managing Director. The specialist for refrigeration compressors BITZER bought the Finnish company, which itself specialises in truck and trailer refrigeration, in December 2012.
“I’m looking forward to an exciting challenge”, says Meyer, who has known Lumikko for many years. “Kari Saikkonen is remaining on board, and together we will strengthen both BITZER and Lumikko. Our aim is clear: we intend to vigorously grow our truck and trailer refrigeration division. By combining our technologies we can offer intelligent solutions from a single source.” And Kari Saikkonen adds: “The names of BITZER and Lumikko are bywords for quality and reliability all round the world. We aim to carry on treading this path together”.
Founded in 1970 in the Finnish city of Seinäjoki, Lumikko produces refrigeration systems for the transport industry and has worked in close collaboration with BITZER since the 1980s. Since the early 2000s Lumikko has been supplying complete refrigeration systems for trucks and trailers in the EU, and a Chinese licensed partner has been producing Lumikko systems since 2012.
