Zweiter BMW Group Förderpreis Schnitt.
Pate des mit 2.500 Euro dotierten BMW Group Förderpreises Schnitt ist der Regisseur und Schauspieler Sebastian Schipper, der die Nachwuchs-auszeichnung an Wolfgang Weigl, den Editor des Kurzfilms "Fair Trade" (Regie: Michael Dreher) überreichte. "Der Schnitt von ,Fair Trade' widersteht den teilweise sentimentalen Tendenzen des Films und schafft Klarheit und Struktur", begründete das Jurymitglied Sebastian Schipper die Entscheidung.
Eine lobende Erwähnung sprach die Jury außerdem für den Schnitt des Kurzfilms "Die Kneipe" aus. "Das, worum es in Filmen geht, liegt oftmals hinter den Bildern und Tönen. Um diesen geheimnisvollen Raum erreichbar zu machen, bedarf es Mut und Risikobereitschaft. ,Die Kneipe' versucht dies mit Innovation und eigener Filmsprache", erläutert die Jury ihre Wahl. Verantwortlich für den Schnitt sind Gabriel Gauchet und Andrzej Król.

Die diesjährige Jury für den Nachwuchspreis bildeten Bella Halben (Kamerafrau), Patricia Rommel (Editorin), Barbara Rudnik (Schauspielerin), Sebastian Schipper (Regisseur), Michael Schmid-Ospach (Geschäftsführer der Filmstiftung NRW), Bettina Braun (Regisseurin), Christoph Hübner (Regisseur), Michael Jungfleisch (Produzent), Judith Kaufmann (Kamerafrau) und Gesa Marten (Editorin).

Der Schnitt Preis in der Kategorie Spielfilm geht an Hansjörg Weißbrich und Bernd Schlegel für die Montage des Films "Requiem" (Regie: Hans-Christian Schmid).
Jean-Marc Lesguillons erhält für den Schnitt des Films "Horst Buchholz - Mein Papa" (Regie: Christopher Buchholz) den Schnitt Preis Dokumentarfilm.
