The current debate on tightening up the fertilizer directive shows how important it is to use fertilizers in an intelligent and well-dosed way. "The right measure is the crucial point here: As much fertilizer as necessary, but not so much that it would endanger the groundwater," emphasizes Andreas Scharf from Technical Sales. The vehicle and implement manufacturers in agricultural engineering are under obligation: Intelligent, data-based technology is required for individual dosing of fertilizers. Jetter, the automation specialist based in Ludwigsburg, Germany, offers control systems and HMIs that make this easy to implement. For manufacturers, intelligent agricultural technology is sometimes a challenge: "Electronic components are increasing, new sensors need to be integrated. As a result, manufacturers have an increased variety of variants and functions in their vehicle product range - which in turn increases development time and costs. For manufacturers, futureproof solutions with which they can respond quickly to new requirements are therefore of great importance," explains Scharf.
Solution: Modular Systems
Jetter AG meets these requirements with modular solutions and easily scalable systems. For example, the Ludwigsburgbased company first examined the subfunctions of a slurry tanker. Jetter then developed independent solutions for each subfunction. Now, each complete system for a particular slurry tanker consists of a combination of subsystems. Vehicle manufacturers can thus select all hydraulic and electrical subfunctions themselves in a configuration file and thus put together an individual solution for their vehicle or implement. In addition to activating the functional options, the system parameters also include all changeable settings, such as the flow rates of the valves or specific weights of the media to be spread. The manufacturer can change the preset values on the PC or directly on the device. In this way, hydraulic systems, controllers and HMIs are very easily scalable in their range of functions: from basic to fully equipped configuration. This allows manufacturers to opt for visualization solutions, controllers, input and output modules, central electrics and plug-and-play cabling solutions. Jetter's modular system offers manufacturers the additional advantage of reducing the time from development to market launch of new devices.
Jetter at the Agritechnica
Jetter AG will present modular solutions and scalable systems at its Agritechnica stand in Hanover. At stand H47 in hall 15, the Ludwigsburgbased automation specialist will present its range of products for agricultural and municipal technology. This year, the company will focus on modular ISOBUS solutions: Jetter offers these for vehicle/trailer units consisting of tractor and implement, such as slurry tankers or manure spreaders. Solutions for selfpropelled and municipal vehicles will also be on display. The automation specialists will also be demonstrating their new telemetry module with a cloud application.
