The event was held in a hotel at the beautiful Lago D’Iseo in Pilzone. “It was the perfect setting for introducing the Italian subsidiary, as well as demonstrating all that’s new in our product ranges, with highlights of what’s to come,” says Marco Destefani, who heads up the newest company in a growing group. Over the past 18 months, CSG has also established subsidiaries in France and the United Kingdom, and – most recently – in the United States.
Aside from introducing the new local presence in Italy, the event focused on the latest corporate news and product demonstrations. “The functionality that achieved the biggest “wow” effect was MEDUSA4’s SMART Edit tool for “parametrics on demand”. We also had a lot of interest in the brand new FACTORY LAYOUT application, which automates the creation of 3D factories, complete with walk-throughs, from 2D layout designs”, says Mark Simpson, the company’s Product Line Manager.
The FACTORY LAYOUT software is aimed at manufacturers who sell their equipment as part of a complete installation - be it a packaging or bottling plant, or conveyor systems for airports. The application allows engineers to draw and place intelligent symbols in 2D, and automatically construct a 3D world. Designers can edit components in either environment, and even model the terrain of factory floors or external grounds. FACTORY LAYOUT offers the optimal solution for each step of the design process, and the ability to use 3D simply and effectively early in the tender stage.
Michael Schroer, one of CSG’s Founding Directors, who has a keen interest in Italy, was especially pleased with how the day went. “It was great to see so many customers and potential customers take the time out of their busy days to join us,” he said, “and especially gratifying to hear so much positive feedback, especially about our approachability, and our willingness to listen. Unsurprisingly, customers fully endorse our strategy of forging a strong local presence in our growth markets.”
Those who did not have the opportunity to attend the event will be able to register for one of CSG’s regular webcasts, and visit www.cad-schroer.it to find out more.
