CADENAS had recognized the potential of the beginning Age of IT back already at the start of the 1990s and developed from a small engineering office into one of the most successful, international software companies, with currently 320 employees at 17 locations.
Wide range of trends and innovations
CADENAS is celebrating its 25th anniversary and has been setting new standards with developments for a quarter of a century now in the areas of Electronic Product Catalogs, Strategic Parts Management and BIM. The company's trademark is to realize trends before they become known to the broad masses. Tomorrow's requirements are already implemented today.
The company has had a sense for sustainable development from the outset. CADENAS had the first CAD data in 3D already as early as 1998, the support of Augmented Reality in Electronic Product Catalogs starting in 2010 and CADENAS further extended its leading edge for trends with the 3D CAD models engineering app in 2012. New platforms as well as communication channels were also put to use as quickly as possible by the German software manufacturer and found their way into the repertoire:
In 2015, for example, a PARTcommunity channel was configured in the social app WeChat before the leading specialized media reported on the new platform. For current topics, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), the software manufacturer can well adapt its decades of proven knowledge and technology to the BIM and AEC sector. Hence in 2016, the first 2D/3D BIM CAD configurator for matters of smoke extraction and fire protection of the Souchier company was developed.
"In many areas we have been able to maintain our pioneering role. New partnerships, cooperations and the sponsoring of young talent help us to be diversified," explains Jürgen Heimbach, CEO of CADENAS. "It impels us to be among the first – which is our daily ambition."
With its software solutions, CADENAS is also a part of the digital revolution and accompanies its customers in the first steps towards Industry 4.0, as customers tell of in their user reports or presentations at the annual Industry-Forum.
For example, component manufacturers enrich the engineering data in their Electronic Product Catalog with intelligent information to create a digital twin. In connection with the Mechatronics Concept Designer (MCD), for example, the commissioning of technical systems can be tested in advance and control details digitally coordinated.
The Innovation Timeline at the CADENAS website offers an overview of the many innovative ideas CADENAS has successfully implemented over the past years.
We wish to thank our customers and partners for the successful cooperation of the past 25 years and look forward to promising decades to come!
