Halls 4 and 6 of the Neue Landesmesse are fully booked, and will feature stands from 650 exhibitors, presenting a range of innovative solutions for the manufacture of medical devices. This year’s MEDTEC (Medical Equipment Design & Technology Exhibition & Conference) sees not only a substantial rise in the number of participating companies, but also in exhibition space, with an increase of around 25 percent to 10,000 square meters over 2007.
Four pavilions for quicker and easier fact-finding
Visitors comprise decision-makers across all fields and functions, including R&D, engineering, design and production, purchasing and quality assurance. To help them find the right information and contacts with minimum effort, MEDTEC 2008 is divided into four pavilions: PrecisionTec is aimed at makers of metal medical components, of devices and implants for interventional cardiology, and for suppliers of CNC systems and specialty metal materials, such as alloys of aluminum, magnesium or titanium, as well as manufacturers of precision medical parts for surgical devices. The Medical Plastics Technology pavilion features the latest developments in man-made materials, and in plastics production and processing systems. Moreover, exhibitors include high-quality contract manufacturers for medical and pharmaceutical devices, and for packaging. There will also be live demonstrations of cutting-edge injection-molding and extrusion processes by leading industry players. Automation Assembly is the place to find technologies that deliver greater speed and efficiency in production processes. This pavilion showcases proven specialists in engineering, automation, assembly, robotics and motion control. The fourth special-focus area is Medical Packaging. The exhibition offering ranges from filling systems, to packaging materials, to manufacturers of disposable devices, to contract packaging services. With this comprehensive portfolio, MEDTEC 2008 offers visitors unique visibility into the products and services available for the entire value chain of medical-device manufacturing.
The MEDTEC conference – answers to today’s pressing technical and regulatory questions
The MEDTEC exhibition is supported by a three-day conference, with a multi-track, English-language program. This top European event is an ideal opportunity for information-gathering and networking. It will, for example, offer important insights into the implications of directive 2007/47/EC. Other key topics are R&D, materials testing, validation, new technologies for healthcare delivery, and for manufacturing, and effective, efficient management of new business models in the medical-technology industry. The presentations will be given by high-quality speakers from leading companies, government agencies and research institutions.
