The retail industry is in full swing. With increasingly better informed customers, new technologies, mobile applications, omni-channel shopping, big data, retailers are working around the clock to respond appropriately to these developments. This is how JBC and Veritas came to seek out a state-of-the-art solution to meet their challenges.
For both retailers, Centric's StoreWorld suite and vision came out on top. This can, of course, be attributed to Centric's experience, in-depth knowledge of the industry, long-term vision and sound financial background.
Specifically, it is about the StoreWorld Product Suite, where different applications have proved indispensable for the POS solution, local store management and central administration.
Besides the renewal of their store automation, the retail chains also opted to update their communications system to include StoreWorld IntraStore, a solution which simplifies and organises the information flows between head office and its branches. As this system allows access to real-time information with the click of a mouse, it is very easy to retrieve and send information online, 24/7. Whilst IntraStore functions as intranet, it is also used as portal for e-learning, logistics information, etc.
Moreover, JBC and Veritas have decided to buy the store hardware from Centric. For these orders, Centric relied on products from HP (POS, servers,...) and Motorola (mobile hardware).
This deal also implies far-reaching service contracts. For example, Centric's helpdesk is always ready to assist the staff of the retail chains should any problems occur. If a problem cannot be solved from a distance, Centric will send out one of its field technicians to remedy the fault without delay.
CEO of Centric Belgium and France Luc Lammens: 'We realise only too well that retailers, our customers, are up to their necks in day-to-day management and challenges. We take care of their IT and automation so that they don't have to. Step by step, we lift them up to a higher plane.'
The partnership with Veritas went one step further, in that Centric manages and optimises all its data (inventory, customer information, accounting, ...) at its data centre.
By choosing Centric's hosting solution, the retailer need not worry about its IT infrastructure, safety, updates, ... and can focus on its core activity instead. Veritas has not yet regretted this decision for one moment, especially since its headquarters was destroyed in a fire only a few weeks after the migration to the data centre.
