CHT's SilSo Lite 21025 meets criteria to reduce weight - as well as mitigate thermal runaway and provide protection from moisture, debris, vibration and shock for electronic components and EV battery packs. This silicone foam is also ideal where low smoke, flame and toxicity are required.
"The new, high performance lightweight silicone materials being developed by CHT will help drive innovation across many markets and applications that utilize these materials," stated Phil McDermott, Chief Technology Officer at CHT USA.
"These materials are designed to meet challenging performance criteria while keeping sustainability as a key design factor."
The fast gel time of this low viscosity, easy-to-dose silicone foam will help increase production throughput and features primerless adhesion to a variety of substrates. Additionally, improved adhesion can be achieved by using one of CHT's recommended primers. SilSo Lite 21025 will expand 2-3 times its liquid volume and will reach full cure in about 10 minutes.
The new silicone foam meets safety requirements and has an excellent flame retardancy which helps to mitigate any thermal decomposition reactions, e.g. after a short circuit.
