Glänzte Dubai noch vor wenigen Monaten als das Vorzeige-Emirat, so ist spätestens nach dem drohenden Pleiteskandal das Ansehen drastisch gesunken.
Die Investoren haben sich ein neues Zielobjekt ausgesucht: Abu Dhabi. Die Hauptstadt der Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate zieht liquide Unternehmen und lukrative Projekte zu Hauf an. Während es in Abu Dhabi boomt und sich Meldungen über fundiert geplante Projekte häufen, liegen unzählige Baustellen im Nachbaremirat Dubai wie verwaist da.
Die negativen Schlagzeilen über die Zahlungsunfähigkeit des Emirates haben nicht nur bei den Baustellen eine Art Schockstarre hervorgerufen, sondern auch die Investoren und die positive Stimmung gelähmt.
Abgeordnete und Delegationen besuchen nun bevorzugt Abu Dhabi. Man ist beeindruckt von den bedächtigen Plänen des zurückhaltenden Scheichs und hat Vertrauen in sein Handeln.
Klar ist auch, dass sich durch die Krise nun die Spreu vom Weizen trennt. Starke Investoren werden noch stärker, die schwachen müssen sich vom Markt wegbewegen und die Konkurrenz wird dadurch kleiner. Insider sprechen von einem Wendepunkt bei der Gewichtung der beiden Emirate. Wie sich die Situation entwickeln wird, zeigt sich in den kommenden Monaten.
