Bern, 21 May 2007 — WeRoam, a leading wholesale aggregator of Public WLAN Roaming, has won Telenor ASA, Norway, as customer of its open WLAN Roaming platform. The two companies have signed an agreement on group level that allows Telenor subsidiaries to offer international wireless broadband access to over 30’000 WeRoam hotspots worldwide.
Telenor is emerging as one of the fastest growing providers of mobile communications services worldwide with ownership interests in 13 mobile operators across Europe and Asia. With this deal Telenor is in the position to promote group wide standardised services for wireless Internet connections. All WeRoam hotspots allow for common browser based landing page access or more enhanced client software login, giving the user the freedom of choice he’s looking for.
