- New brand name: Benecke-Kaliko's diversified products portfolio is named Dynactiv Surfaces
- Upholstery, protective clothing, power supply: Product portfolio significantly extended
- Pooling forces: Customers benefit from global development and design expertise
Benecke-Kaliko has greatly diversified its product portfolio outside of the automotive industry under the brand name Dynactiv Surfaces, offering a full range of innovative surface materials for a large number of consumer and contract industry sectors. The ContiTech business unit is exhibiting its new product and service offering at Booth D32 in Hall 3.0 at Techtextil. "We are doing this to show our customers that, in addition to a wide product range of high-quality automotive interior materials, we also have a very great deal to offer many other sectors," says Dr. Claus Zürbig, Managing Director at Benecke-Kaliko.
Benecke-Kaliko has bolstered its diversified business by acquiring plants in Pamplona, Spain and Wągrowiec, Poland from the Belgian Mecaseat Group. The new locations offer a broad range of products that extend across 9 industry sectors. But Benecke-Kaliko has also been manufacturing surface materials for a variety of industries for decades in Germany, too. "The new locations will enable us to pool our forces and offer our customers significant added value. They will benefit from an even broader premium-quality product portfolio and optimal local service. In addition, we are focusing our global development and design expertise, our worldwide network and our know-how even more sharply on the sectors served by our Dynactiv solutions," says Zürbig.
Dynactiv: Eight new product groups supply surface solutions for industry
The eight product groups of the Dynactiv Surfaces portfolio are divided into the following sector applications: Hospitality, Health, Home, Fashion, Mobility, Protection, Power and Blend.
Whenever the need is for toughness, hygiene and easy cleaning of furniture and equipment, Benecke-Kaliko's Dynactiv Hospitality products deliver winning solutions - for example, in hotels, restaurants and bars, movie theaters and shopping malls. In seniors' homes, care homes, hospitals and doctors' offices Benecke-Kaliko contributes to ultra-high levels of hygiene with its innovative Dynactiv Health products. The Dynactiv Home series of surface materials for indoor and outdoor furniture are highly resistant to daily wear and tear and weather effects and are also of outstanding quality.
For companies driven by fashion and requiring high-quality materials Dynactiv Fashion products from Benecke-Kaliko are the solution. Interior trim materials in aircraft and on ferries, cruise ships and yachts, on the other hand, have to be extremely tough, flame-retardant and especially lightweight. That is precisely what the Dynactiv Mobility surfaces offer.
Dynactiv Protection materials from Benecke-Kaliko meet the most stringent global safety standards and are used, for instance, for protective clothing, workwear and uniforms. The focus for Dynactiv Blend products is on added value and reuse. These exclusive blends, granulates and recycled material blends can be used for almost every imaginable application.
Doubly sustainable: Self-sufficient electricity and water supply
One of the highlights of the Dynactiv portfolio are the Dynactiv Power series surfaces for self-sufficient water and power supply in arid regions. These materials with their integral solar modules are highly sustainable and are landmark products for countries with long periods of drought. The light-impermeable film completely covers large water surfaces and reliably protects the reservoirs against dirt and evaporation. Up to 40 percent more water is retained as a result which can then be used to irrigate arable land. In addition, photovoltaic modules laminated to the film make solar power available to surrounding households or to operate pumping stations. "With the introduction of Dynactiv Surfaces we now have our eye on the trends and technologies not only of the automotive industry but also of many other industries," emphasizes Zürbig. "The two areas will be mutually inspiring and therefore result in new innovative solutions."
