Morgen, Leute, soll's nichts geben

200 Journalisten aus dem Ruhrgebiet und dem Rheinland waren am Mittag in Essen auf den Beinen, um gegen die Sparpolitik der Tageszeitungsverleger zu protestieren. Weihnachtsmann und Knecht Ruprecht verkündeten die Botschaft, dass guter Journalismus gute tarifliche Rahmenbedingungen braucht. Vereint werde man sich gegen die Verleger-Sparwünsche stellen. Die stellvertretende DJV-Bundesvorsitzende Ulrike Kaiser betonte in ihrer Rede: "Wir schreiben keine Wunschzettel mehr, wir stellen Forderungen. Trotz der Weihnachtszeit haben wir nichts zu verschenken." Gemeinsam sangen die Streikenden mehrere Male ein Weihnachtslied: "Morgen, Leute, soll's nichts geben. Rotstift kürzt, was uns gehört. Wovon soll der Nachwuchs leben, ist Tarifwerk erst zerstört." Außerdem ließen der Weihnachtsmann und Knecht Ruprecht am Essener Salzmarkt das Tarifwerk Zukunft aus dem Überraschungs-Sack - keine Gehaltserhöhung 2014, weniger Urlaubstage, längeres Volontariat usw.
