Im Internationalen Regelwerk der International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) werden ausschließlich Anforderungen an die Dimensionen der Anlagen, der Ausrüstung sowie an die Wettkampfdurchführung gestellt. Es liegt somit Verbesserungspotential im Bereich der Anforderungen zur Sicherheit sowie an die Materialbeschaffenheit vor, welche die Unfall- und Verletzungsrisiken auf ein Minimum reduzieren oder durch technische Maßnahmen ganz verhindern können.
Nun liegt dem Normenausschuss Wasserwesen im DIN ein Normungsantrag vor, um Anforderungen an Schießanlagen für den Wurfscheibensport festzulegen.
Durch solche Festlegungen werden Hersteller eine sichere Grundlage für ihre Produkte erhalten. Prüfstellen verfügen dann über einheitliche Kriterien, nach denen sie die Sportanlagen auf ihre Sicherheit prüfen können. Profi- wie Freizeitschützen können auf einheitliche Geräte und Anlagen verweisen und zurückgreifen. Auch die Vergleichbarkeit der sportlichen Leistungen in Wettkämpfen wird hierdurch sichergestellt.
Alle interessierten Kreise (z. B. Verbandsvertreter, Hersteller, Prüfinstitute, Regelsetzende Institutionen, Verbraucherorganisationen, Anwender sowie Wissenschaft und Forschung) sind zur aktiven Mitarbeit aufgerufen, um den Inhalt der zukünftigen Norm mit zu gestalten.
Interessierte an diesem Normungsprojekt werden gebeten, sich bis zum 30. März 2013 mit der Geschäftsstelle des Normenausschuss Wasserwesen in Verbindung zu setzen.
