The code is clearly visible on the glass or closure and is regarded as an important quality mark across all sectors of industry, allowing laboratory glassware and all production-relevant data to be traced back to the time of manufacture.
Traceability is even more important when it comes to protecting sensitive media that come into contact with glass. Safe, reliable and analytically pure - these are important requirements for the production of laboratory glassware. Transparency in the product's value chain gives the customer certainty about the authenticity of the glass and protects the DURAN® brand from counterfeiting. Traceability also strengthens confidence in the harmlessness and quality of the products and in their manufacturing process. All this serves to ensure safety in daily laboratory work.
The certificate of conformity was introduced at the same time as the Retrace Code, which contributes to documentation within quality management, particularly in safety and quality-sensitive industries. In addition to the date of manufacture and the Retrace Code, it contains information on the material properties, the applicable standards and notes on USP/EP conformity.
In April 2020 the 100 millionth DURAN® article - a wide-neck Erlenmeyer flask - rolled off the production line. At the same time, DWK Life Sciences provided a new, user-friendly database for downloading quality certificates: At www.cert.dwk.com, by entering the Retrace Code printed on the DURAN® product, the corresponding certificate can be generated and downloaded as a PDF file.
