The focus will be on the innovative light-curing adhesives of the 2000-MW series, which have been formulated without commonly used skin-irritating ingredients, and thus meet the special requirements for medical wearables. The development process eliminated the use of IBOA, a known skin sensitizer. All products in this adhesive range meet the requirements of ISO standard 10993-10/-23 for sensitization and skin irritation and ISO standard 10993-5 for cytotoxicity. Typical applications include medical wearables and devices worn close to the skin, such as blood glucose meters, large-volume injectors, patient monitoring devices, and pain management devices.
In addition, MD®1040-M has been added to the medical adhesive product line. It is particularly suitable as an adhesive or encapsulation material for medical devices and surgical instruments that require frequent sterilization. Its excellent resistance to the aggressive sterilization methods used in medical technology and its excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates make it a differentiating and unique offering to the market, helping solve some of the hardest design challenges As a result, this light-curable adhesive is ideal for surgical instruments and medical devices that undergo numerous autoclave or hydrogen peroxide-plasma sterilization cycles, but it can also be used as an encapsulation material to protect critical sensors and electronic components where moisture ingress must be prevented.
Of particular interest to medical device manufacturers are also the latest UV/LED or UV broad-spectrum curing devices, including the powerful Dymax BlueWave® QX4 2.0 LED spot-curing system and the newly developed Dymax BlueWave® FX-1250 high-intensity LED flood-curing system.
Dymax application engineering experts will be on hand to answer your questions about light-curing materials and curing systems, discuss customer applications in detail, and offer demonstrations of key products and technologies.
