Each of the 111 new human head simulation workstations is now equipped with a monitor, a PC and the latest generation of the EBS alphadidact system. Using fiber-optic cabling, the system enables image broadcast of high-resolution digital cameras and microscopes to individual workstation monitors. In parallel, the sound of a wireless microphone can be transmitted to the monitor- and ceiling speakers.
Live demonstrations and educational videos are broadcasted in high digital resolution and without delay. A 12 EBS touchscreen is available to control all functions. Through the system coupling, both labs can be used independent of each other, and if necessary, combined into a large training laboratory.
110 students can be trained at the same time and follow the demonstrations of lecturers. Thanks to the multimedia training system, the eye-hand coordination that is so important in dentistry is intensively trained.
A further advantage is the simple, intuitive operation of the system, the independence of the internal university IT and the guarantee of highest operational safety. After installation there are no follow-up costs and no additional support is needed.
The digital multimedia systems are developed by EBS in Germany and are already in use in numerous dental simulation clinics worldwide. Further information is available at www.ebs-euchner.com.
