The awards, which are in their second year, were introduced to raise the profile of the often underestimated area of card payments and to distinguish extraordinary service providers. In line with the overall theme of "Guiding Hands", the awards are aimed at recognising providers that allow merchants an easy and successful entry into the complex cards business while accompanying them on their way with competency and performance.
The International Award goes to the acquirer with the best overall offering for international merchants. Leon Dhaene, Chairman of the Guiding Hand Awards, explained: "The solution of Deutsche Card Services integrates cross-border acquiring and PSP services with fraud prevention, receivables management and additional services into a corporate banking cash management solution. A single stop for international merchants for all of their cash management, whether electronic or paper-based, is a unique proposition in the European market."
Commenting on the award win, Marilyn Spearing, Global Head of Global Transaction Banking’s Trade Finance/Cash Management Corporates, commented: "We are delighted to be named the best service provider for internationally active merchants once again. This win demonstrates the significant role that Deutsche Card Services plays within our international Cash Management portfolio, making a valuable contribution to the positive market perception of our business."
Jens Mahlke from the Deutsche Card Services senior management team, added: "Deutsche Card Services' portfolio not only provided a compelling case for this specific award, it also contributes to other accolades won by Deutsche Bank's Cash Management business. To sustain our leadership and to satisfy the demands of what is a fast-paced market, we will continue to expand and optimise our services."
