Perforce Software today announced that its version management system is now being deployed by u-blox, a Swiss-based fabless semiconductor provider, in association with local Perforce partner EVOCEAN. u-blox chose Perforce for its high reliability, support for distributed teams, extensibility with other systems, high performance and ease of installation. u-blox joins a global Perforce customer base of over 500,000 users in more than 10,000 organisations.

u-blox provides embedded positioning and wireless communication components and services for the consumer, industrial and automotive markets, with R&D centres in seven countries. The company conducts a wide range of R&D projects focusing on RF transceivers, baseband digital signal processing, embedded computing and firmware for both chip and surface-mount module products.

It realised that version management tools can play a vital role in keeping development projects on track, particularly when multiple teams across multiple sites are involved.
