With the new PICOMIG 180, EWM HIGHTEC WELDING from Mündersbach in Germany presents a portable multi-process inverter power source, which is not only incredibly powerful but also extremely versatile, and comes in a sturdy plastic casing with no sharp corners or edges. In the factory, during assembly and above all on the construction site, the PICOMIG 180 shows what a modern welding power source, weighing only 15 kilograms, is capable of and how reliably and flexibly it does its job in tough, everyday operation. The power source masters the MIG/MAG welding procedure with solid as well as with self-shielding cored wire (Ø 200 mm pin reels). The latter is an invaluable advantage in mobile use - it enables the user to work without shielding gas, which would otherwise be required, and the heavy and cumbersome steel bottles. Furthermore, the PICOMIG 180 also masters TIG welding (Liftarc) as well as joining with the MMA process.
A real all-round talent that retains its maximum output of 180 amperes on site, even with high mains tolerances (-40% to +15%) and still supplies a 30 percent duty cycle even at ambient temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius. In this way, the single phase machine (230 V) offers unrestricted operation with generators and long mains leads.

To speed up and simplify the welder's work, the PICOMIG 180 is already equipped with 30 programs (JOBs) for the most common MIG/MAG joining tasks. The self-explanatory operating panel - with synergic operation, large rotary dial and digital display - makes reproducible location and setting of joining parameters especially easy. This also enables less-skilled personnel to start welding directly after switching on. Further valuable functions and the particularly good ignition and welding properties support joining in all three disciplines: Dynamics, creep starting, burn-back, non-latched and latched, spots, interval with MIG/MAG welding, variable hotstart current and time setting, arcforcing with MMA welding, start and end-crater current with TIG welding. Welding with self-shielding cored wires is perfected by means of respective characteristics, polarity display and pole reversal via an external welding current plug completely without tools or adjustments to the machine.
