Hier werden schnell die Grenzen von vielen Produktionsplanungssystemen deutlich. Der Anwender möchte in Echtzeit erfahren was es bedeutet, wenn ein Auftrag verschoben wird, oder ein möglicher neuer Auftrag, den der Vertrieb akquiriert hat, eingeplant wird. Das Resultat sollte binnen Sekunden präsent sein, denn diese Art von Anfragen oder Planungsspielen ist die tägliche Herausforderung vieler Produktionsplaner.
Der AHP-Leitstand liefert diese Ergebnisse in Echtzeit, sowohl auf der Plantafel, als auch als Rechenergebnis in der Datenbank. Die Entwicklung der Algorithmen geht auf das Jahr 1986 zurück, wo man noch mit wenig Rechenleistung schnelle Antwortzeiten erzielen mußte. Heute profitieren wir von der damaligen Entwicklung, da alle Algorithmen sehr schlank und effizient programmiert sind.
